The Academy
TARANA DANCE ACADEMY is specialized in Kathak and Semi Classical dances to stay attached to the origins of Indian dance. The school has further expanded its repertoire to include Folk and Fusion dances. It recently got
affiliated with Sarbabharatiya Sangeet O Sanskriti Parishad of Kolkata, INDIA to provide certificate based
curriculum in Kathak for all Kathak students. Students are getting degree which are recognized by
Rabindra Bharati University of Kolkata, Raja Man Singh Tomar University of Gwalior, Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwa Vidyalaya of Khhairagarh.
Smt. Debjani Roychoudhry of TARANA DANCE ACADEMY is the disciple of legendary Kathak Guru Pandit
Satya Narayana Charka Ji in New York and Guru Sandip Mallick Ji of Kolkata, INDIA who has brought the wave of all modern techniques of Kathak from India.
TARANA DANCE ACADEMY has Kathak programs for beginner, intermediate and advanced students. Students get the opportunity to learn the pure technical aspects of Kathak and perform in different events throughout the year.
The Concept
TARANA DANCE ACADEMY is a center of creativity and high energy. We offer dancers of all levels a place to explore and create, to build self-confidence and self-discipline. Come and connect with others who share a love of dance. We participate and organize several dance shows every year to promote new talent and expose the general public to the art and beauty of dance.
Our Gurus are renowned dancers who provide students with the basic skills they need to go on and express themselves fully in the classical dance style of Kathak. Dancers of every level of experience and skill are invited to our workshops. We are also thrilled to welcome dancers with physical limitations or disabilities.
The Atmosphere
The studio is located in Monroe Township, in a community surrounded by green trees and chirping birds. The setting is pastoral and relaxing, an ideal break from the bustling city nearby. Our classes are held in a bright and spacious studio equipped with excellent sound systems. The environment in our classes is energetic, positive, welcoming and high energy. We love to dance, and you’ll feel it.
